Paul Kress has spent 48 years as a teacher and administrator at three Christian schools: 20 years at Simpson College, then in San Francisco; 8 years at King’s Schools in Seattle; and 20 years at Northwest University in Kirkland. Hobbies include reading mysteries and books on faith…which are often very similar. He has been married since 1977 and has three adult daughters and one granddaughter.
The topic will be “The Apostle’s Inner Ring.” A brief look at the three apostles that often seemed to spend exclusive time with Jesus: Peter, James and John. First, we will look at some of the events that formed their faith; secondly, we will look at some of the writings that expressed and then solidified that faith. Hopefully, there will be two goals that drive us for the week: one, when we draw closer to Jesus we will draw closer to his cross; and two, we will grow in a way that seeks to put away our “childish faith” and will then bring better meaning to holding onto the “faith of a child.”
